The local media play an influential role in every community. When emergency services organizations take ownership for collaboratively working with the media in their coverage of emergency incidents and non-emergency events, the resulting news coverage meets or exceeds stakeholder expectations in terms of being not only timely but also accurate, comprehensive, and professional. This presentation will provide participants with the skills to build and maintain rapport with the media and learn effective communication techniques to utilize throughout the interview process.

Assisting members in their efforts to promote effective fire prevention and suppression, emergency medical services, and other emergency services through educational, technical, and legislative means.
